2 tons of weed seized in kitchenware at Laredo checkpoint
Drug cartels are always looking at new ways to smuggle marijuana across the border. This time they opted for cookware.
Customs and Border Protection officials announced this past Tuesday that they had seized about two tons of pot which was hidden in range hoods at a checkpoint in Laredo.
In all, officials confiscated about 4,100 pounds of marijuana at an estimated street value of $3.3 million.
Drug sniffing dogs led border agents to find the stash.
