#5 – Zombieland
Bill-fuckin-Murray is all we have to say.
Totally a good movie, it has zombies, a main character who is a big pothead himself (Woody Harrelson), and they toke it up at Murray’s mansion.
It’s just a shame he had to go the way he did.
#4 – Cheech and Chong’s Next Movie
What stoner Halloween movie list wouldn’t be complete without a Cheech and Chong film?
So you’re asking yourself, why this particular movie? Well keeping with the spirit of the season, Cheech dons a costume and alter-ego in this one as he plays Red and the two get abducted by aliens.
If you’re looking to get dressed up this year, the duo made our Top 10 Stoner Halloween Costumes list as well.
#3 – Cabin in the Woods
It’s a debate about whether or not this can be truly classified as a stoner movie. We absolutely believe it is.
There’s a total pothead lead character in this movie and he’s got to be everyone’s favorite. In fact, he figures everything out and takes a principled stand.
Besides, you can’t go wrong with a movie that has this line: “Whatever he’s been smoking has been immunizing him to all our shit.”
Also, we totally want to know where we can get that coffee mug/bong.
#2 – Donnie Darko
There’s no actual marijuana consumption in this movie, but that doesn’t stop it from being a stoner flick. There’s few stoners out there who don’t enjoy this movie.
In keeping with Halloween, the movie falls during this time and there’s a rockin Halloween party, not to mention a creepy bunny costume. Jake Gyllenhaal is a notorious pothead too.
So which is it? Fear or Love?
#1 – Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Cannabis is just one of many drugs consumed in this movie, and it’s one hell of a wild trip.
Any stoner worth their salt has seen Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, the 1998 movie based on Hunter S. Thompson’s book.
Both Johnny Depp and Benicio Del Toro give an excellent performance in this movie while the viewer is taken on a crazed ride. Depp is definitely a friend of the marijuana movement as well, as no doubt many have seen the picture of him toking it up with Marilyn Manson.
