Belmead man arrested for pound of pot during traffic stop

aguilarAbout a pound of marijuana was recovered during a recent traffic stop in Belmead, a small town just outside of Waco.

After pulling over 30-year-old Manuel Aguilar in the 4500 block of Williams Rd. on Sunday, the officer stated that he detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. After getting approval to conduct a search, the officer found a large plastic bag with over a pound of cannabis.

Aguilar was taken to jail, but has since posted $5,000 bond and has been released.
