DFW NORML Election Profile: Andrea Brown – Secretary
Andrea Brown is seeking election as DFW NORML’s Secretary.
She currently serves as Secretary and has held the position twice since joining the organization in April of 2011. Her first term was from 2011-2012, and again from 2013 to current.
In between her terms as Secretary, she held the Treasurer position.
Brown is an accountant by trade.
Asked about why she enjoys the position so much, she responded “holding the Secretary position gives me a great sense of pride and accomplishment, knowing that I am putting forth a huge and time consuming effort just to keep the membership cards/merchandise going out on time. Our membership count has gone from 20, to now, over 1,000 current card carrying members. I can say that most of those cards I made for our members.”
Talking about her efforts within the organization and what she brings to the table, Brown says “I may not be as outspoken as some, but I am one of the most hard working and dedicated people in this organization. My work ethic is something to brag about and it translates to my Norml volunteer work, naturally. I take pride in my work and this organization, and will continue to do so for as long as I have the ability to do so. This department of our group REQUIRES organization, and I am the queen of organization. How do you think Shaun is able to get so much done? ;)”
She concludes by stating, “this is a cause I am affected by daily, and will fight for daily, for myself and my friends and family.”
