El Paso NORML to hold first major event

El Paso NORML (National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws) launches its kick off event January 11th, 2014 at the Hilton Garden Inn (111 W. University Ave., El Paso, Texas 79902) . Meeting start time will be at 10:00 a.m., El Paso NORML will be there an hour prior to the meeting to have membership sign-ups, to meet supporters of the cause and to answer any questions that any guests may have.

El Paso NORML has invited and confirmed several guest speakers, including:

State Senator José Rodríguez
U.S. Congressman Beto O’Rourke
Richard ” Kinky” Friedman Candidate for Texas Commissioner of Agriculture (Democrat)
David Sloane – DFW NORML Public Information Officer/Criminal Defense Attorney
Ryan Frank Rodriguez – Founder of DFW NORML and Native El Pasoan.

El Paso NORML’s mission is to move public opinion sufficiently to achieve the repeal of marijuana prohibition so that the responsible use of cannabis by adults is no longer subject to penalty.
