Harlingen police seize five tons of cannabis

Harlingen police have seized five tons of cannabis valued at about $7.5 million.

On Friday, May 17, police on patrol noticed suspicious activity at a local shipping warehouse.

Upon searching the area they found cannabis being loaded into a semi truck.

High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) assisted the department in the investigation.

This is the largest seizure in history for the Harlingen Police Department.
