A Montgomery County sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on Tuesday and turned up 600 pounds of marijuana.

The deputy stopped a pickup truck for an unknown reason in the Interstate 45 main lanes, near Lake Woodlands Drive. He then had a drug dog sniff the truck, which alerted on the truck bed where the bundles of cannabis were located.

Joel Blanco, 31, of Houston was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, a second-degree felony.

Officials estimated the value of the haul at $360,000.
