Houston NORML and Grow Your Own present hemp documentary ‘Bringing it Home’
The 2013 documentary, “Bringing it Home” is a 52 minute film which explores the diverse world of hemp, the non-psychoactive counter-part to marijuana. Delving into the durable plant’s many uses including industrial, textile, and consumption, it also explores the history and legality of hemp.
It asks the question of why hemp cultivation is illegal in the US, even as it is grown in 31 countries around the world, including Canada and several European nations.
According to IMDB, “the documentary weaves a touching narrative extolling the many benefits of industrial hemp for the environment and human health, while illuminating the obstacles to what could be a thriving industry for U.S. farmers to tap into.”
The event will take place on Saturday, May 10 at The Concert Pub North, which is located at 2470 FM 1960W, Houston, Texas 77068.
Screening will begin at 5:00 p.m. and popcorn with hemp butter will be served.
