Letters to the Editor: A veteran in struggle

Every day in this country 22 veterans, both men and women, lose their battle.

It is not a foreign fighter or an accident that does them in, it’s themselves, and that is more than unacceptable.

We have research and personal accounts of the ways that cannabis/marijuana helps with PTSD and many other disorders caused by time spent doing what our vets have been called upon to do.

I almost became one of those 22 on two occasions, once on Dec. 7, 2007 and once again in Aug of 2012. If it wasn’t for a great support network and the benefits I have received from the cannabis plant I would not be here today to help vets in a similar position.

I am the Veteran’s Outreach Coordinator for Waco NORML, an organization committed to getting safe access to the medication that can help. If you are having trouble in life please contact any of the organizations that can help.
