Oregon likely to legalize marijuana according to new poll
Newly released polling results in Oregon show that a majority supports legalizing cannabis, adding to speculation that a measure to do just that will pass this fall.
Survey USA polling asked registered voters about the ballot referendum and found that 51% of respondents were in support of it, with just 41% opposed while 8% remain undecided.
Support was strong among all age groups – including being supported by 57% of those aged 50 to 64 – though 58% of those aged 64 and older oppose the effort. As for party affiliation, 65% of Democrats support legalizing cannabis, compared to 50% of Independents and just 28% of Republicans.
The full poll results can be found here.
Recent polling in Texas found that a majority of Texans support legalization as well.
