Oregon votes to legalize marijuana

state of oregon

Add Oregon to the list for fully legalized marijuana. Voters there have made it the third state to legalize cannabis, and they join Washington, DC today in passing legalization measures.

With a 57 to 42 percent lead, the measure is certain to pass.

It now joins its neighbor Washington, and Colorado in making marijuana legal to possess.

Results are still being tallied for legalization in Alaska, however the results are in for medical marijuana in both Guam and Florida.

Medicinal cannabis was strongly approved in the U.S. island territory of Guam, giving a wide array of patients access to the non-toxic plant.

While a measure to approve medical marijuana in Florida received 57 percent of the vote, it failed to pass due a requirement of 60 percent in order for a constitutional amendment to pass.
