Rally for marijuana reform to be held in Austin

Texas NORML will be holding a rally at the state capitol on Saturday May 9 to raise awareness about the need to change marijuana laws in Texas.

Texas NORML is the Austin chapter of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws.

Texans from across the state are expected to attend the event, which takes place during the height of a legislative session which features a record 11 marijuana related bills.

There will be a lineup of speakers from various organizations from around the state, including Mothers Advocating Medical Marijuana for Autism, the Patient Alliance for Cannabis Therapeutics, Texas NORML, DFW NORML, Houston NORML, Republicans Against Marijuana Prohibition, and Progress Texas.

Participants will meet at Austin City Hall at 11:30 a.m. and then march to the capitol building. The rally is expected to last until 4 p.m. and it will be followed by an after party.
