Texarkana men arrested after driving with no taillights and marijuana

Two men in Texarkana were arrested after driving with no taillights and marijuana in their vehicle.

Officers stopped 24-year-old Brandon Jefferson of in his Chevy Suburban at South Lake Dr. and Findley St. around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday because his taillights were out. While at the vehicle, officers say they caught a strong smell of marijuana coming from the SUV.

A search turned up more than five pounds of cannabis.

Both Jefferson and passenger Lagarrous Glover, 23, were arrested. Jefferson is from Texarkana, Texas, and Glover is from Texarkana, Ark.

Each faces a charge for possession of marijuana more than five pounds but under 50 pounds, a third-degree felony which includes a mandatory minimum of two years in prison, up to 10 years. This also includes a fine up to $10,000.
