Texas NORML to host Activist Training Day

With the upcoming Texas legislative session right around the corner, organizations are taking steps to prepare activists to speak with their representatives in Austin.

Texas NORML is among those groups and will be hosting their 7th Annual Activist Training Day on Saturday, December 13 at the capitol building in Austin.

They will be teaching people how to speak to legislators about changing marijuana laws, and how best to represent the cannabis community.

On hand to speak will be Heather Fazio, Texas Political Director for Marijuana Policy Project, Davis Bass, Director of Veteran Outreach for Texas NORML, Vincent Lopez, Director of Patient Outreach for Texas NORML, founder of Patient Alliance for Cannabis Therapeutics, Randal Kuykendall, Lobbyist for Texans for Responsible Marijuana Policy, and Amy Lou, President of Mothers Advocating for Medical Marijuana for Autism.

Training will run from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in room E2.002a. The address for the capitol building is 1100 Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78701.

There will also be an event afterwards held at Scholz’s Beer Garden.
