Texas school board member caught with 1,200 pounds of pot

progresoA Progreso school board member is facing charges after state troopers found over 1,200 pounds of marijuana in his vehicle.

31-year-old Felix Hernandez Jr. was arrested Saturday and charged with being in possession of between 50 and 2,000 pounds of marijuana according to The Monitor.

A traffic violation prompted a trooper in Hidalgo County to pull Hernandez over. It is unclear what led to a search of the vehicle.

He is currently in Hidalgo County Jail on $1.25 million bond.
