Top 10 stoner costumes for Halloween
Happy Halloweed! And no, that’s not a typo. Stoners love getting into the spirit and dressing up for Halloween just as much as anyone else.
Here’s some stoner inspired costumes, something for everyone. Don’t forget to vote at the end of the article on your favorite!
#10 – Willie Nelson
Who doesn’t love Willie Nelson? He’s an iconic singer-songwriter from Texas, renown for his passion for cannabis. In a recent interview, he boldly stated that touring through Texas wasn’t going to stop him from toking it up.
Talking to Rolling Stone Magazine about it, he says “they (police) mostly want autographs now. They don’t really bother me any more for the weed, because you can just bust me now and I’ll pay my fine or go to jail, get out and burn one (joint) on the way home. They know they’re not stopping me.”
#9 – Lighter & Joint
Up for a good couples costume? Whether it’s your significant other or your buddy, both of you can get into the spirit.
The only question we have is, what’s with the look on their faces? Maybe they just need to work together, spark one up, and it’ll all be gravy from there.
#8 – Rasta Dog
Our K-9 pals want to get in on this too! What better way than to go all Rastafarian?
You’ll definitely have the coolest dog in town, hopefully the chillest too.
#7 – Nancy Botwin
Most stoners have seen Weeds, the eight season series on Showtime about the suburban mom who turns to selling marijuana to maintain her family’s lifestyle when her husband dies of a heart attack.
Yeah she’s not the brightest, makes some totally rookie mistakes, and grossly gets it on with some seriously questionable dudes, but we hope her heart is in the right place. Any ladies out there looking for a gender specific costume could definitely rock this one out.
Don’t forget the iced coffee.
#6 – Bag of Weed & Cop
Normlly a bag of weed and a cop just don’t go together (though there are plenty of officers out there toking it up) however after the marijuana march in Dallas earlier this month, the cops seemed pretty cool with the idea.
We need to bring these two closer together, so why not start with Halloween? No doubt some of them could mellow out a bit.
#5 – Raoul Duke
Any stoner worth their salt has seen Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, the 1998 movie based on Hunter S. Thompson’s book. If you haven’t seen it, definitely add it to the list of stoner movies to watch this Halloween.
Get dressed up as the iconic Raoul Duke, played by Johnny Depp, shades and all. Anyone who gets the reference is a potential cool person to get to know.
“Jesus God almighty, look at that bunch over there man! They’ve spotted us!”
#4 – Bag of Weed & Blunts
Looking to make it a three-some this year? Then look no further, there’s a costume for that too!
Sublime talked about smoking two joints, but how about two blunts? You’ll need a decent sized bag of weed if you want to roll two up proper. It’s a pretty simple costume to make. The only question is who gets to be the bag of weed.
#3 – The Dude
Lebowski, El Duderino, The Dude, but definitely not Mr. Lebowski.
Definitely a stoner character, and totally a plus if you like Credence.
There is something odd about a man who doesn’t like The Eagles though…
#2 – Bong
A prized possession by many, and undoubtedly a favorite method by the masses, who doesn’t like getting a rip from the bong?
While it may be hard to carry one with you, why not just become a bong this year? I’m sorry, I mean “water pipe.”
#1 – Cheech & Chong
The original stoners who still make us laugh to this day. Even those who don’t partake in the herb enjoy these two.
Get the retro look down and totally go as one of these guys this year. If you have a buddy, all the more perfect.
People talk about how this duo gives the cannabis movement a bad image. Those people are probably the most dire in need of burning one down.
*Bonus* – Willie Nelson Dog
Like we said earlier, Willie Nelson is pretty awesome, and since we’re fighting for legalization in Texas, we need all the help we can get. Enlist your dog in this effort. They can benefit from cannabis as well!
