Waco police run 3 day drug interdiction operation, arrest 6 people

Waco Police Department ran a 3-day covert highway drug interdiction operation along Interstate Highway 35 and made six arrests.

The Waco Police Department Street Crimes Unit concluded their operation early Sunday morning.

An official statement said “the main goal of this operation was to arrest offenders that use I-35 for a drug route through our city.”

During that operation, of the 6 arrested they had a total of 17 charges. Of the 17 total charges there were 12 that were drug related.

This included three arrests for possession of marijuana under 2 ounces, one for possession of concentrated marijuana over a gram, one delivery of a controlled substance cocaine over 4 grams, 6 charges for possession of pharmaceutical pills, and one for drug paraphernalia.

The department stated that “overall the operation was a success.”
