Waco police seize hydroponic cannabis operation, Wacoans rejoice
Waco police arrested a 21-year-old man after searching his apartment and finding a hydroponic marijuana growing operation Wednesday night.
Waco PD’s Street Crimes Unit found the indoor garden while conducting an investigation at an apartment in the 1900 block of S. 12 St. in Waco.
Among the items seized were 10 plants, scales, pipes, two bongs, 40 grams of cannabis, and some Adderall tablets. Also found were grow lights, heat lamps, a watering system, and other growing equipment.
Russell Allen Attwood was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana over 2 ounces. He has been booked into the McLennan County Jail.
Wacoans have been rejoicing through the night now that this dangerous criminal is off the streets and has been brought to justice. Residents say the tens of thousands of dollars spent prosecuting and jailing him, and all the manpower used to do so is well worth the time, even as 58% of Texans support legalizing marijuana.
After watching the Facebook comments section on the KWTX update about this story the responses have been very heartening as the grand majority. well over 100, have spoken out against this waste of police resources and in support of legalization.
