Willie Nelson’s daughter busted for weed
Paula Nelson, the daughter of Willie Nelson, was allegedly busted for possession of marijuana on Sunday, April 20.
Fort Worth Weekly reported that Nelson posted a picture of her being arrested on her Facebook page, but staff with Texas Cannabis Report could not confirm that.
She is quoted as saying “let’s just say I’m writing a new song called ‘Spread ‘em, squat and cough.’”
The arrest was made by Menard County deputies and Sheriff Buck Miller was quoted as stating, “a traffic stop was executed and drugs were found.”
Nelson was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana under two ounces and is out on bond.
Possession of less than two ounces of marijuana is a Class B misdemeanor punishable by up to 180 days in jail and a $2,000 fine.
This isn’t the first time an arrest for marijuana possession has been made in the Nelson family. Willie has been arrested on three occasions, the first in Waco in 1994, another in St. Martin Parish, Louisiana in 2006, and in Sierra Blanca, Texas in 2010.
