Woman, 68, busted for $631,000 of marijuana in Amarillo

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers made a traffic stop near Amarillo on Monday which netted 175 pounds of marijuana.

Around noon, a DPS trooper pulled over a vehicle traveling east on I-40 near Conway in Carson County, News 10 reports. It was unclear what prompted the stop.

The trooper discovered 118 bundles in the vehicle, though it is unclear what led to the discovery.

The driver was identified as a 68-year-old woman from California, who was allegedly transporting the cannabis to Atlanta.

The woman is charged with possession and delivery of marijuana and was booked into the Carson County Jail.

Officials valued the bust at $631,000.
